Julia H. Terry
Julia H. Terry joined Whitney in March, 2010. Prior to joining Whitney, Ms. Terry was Special Counsel in the Real Estate Group at Jones, Walker, Waechter, Poitevent, Carrère & Denègre L.L.P. and a Partner in the Business Group at McGlinchey Stafford, PLLC in New Orleans. Before moving to New Orleans in 1997, Ms. Terry was an attorney in the Business Section at Butler Snow, O’Mara, Stevens & Cannada in Jackson, Mississippi. Her practice specialized in asset based lending transactions, real estate portfolio acquisitions and dispositions, foreclosures, and general business and regulatory matters, including representing numerous banks over the years.
After Hurricane Katrina, Ms. Terry moved to Atlanta where she served as Vice President and Manager of the Atlanta office of First American Title Insurance Company’s National Commercial Services Division.
Ms. Terry’s current practice areas include third party bank vendor contract review (including application service provider and other IT agreements), commercial lending secured transactions, real estate, title insurance, environmental and bank regulatory matters, foreclosures, Article 9, and international letters of credit.
Ms. Terry received her law degree from the University of Mississippi in 1991, her Masters in Business Administration from Millsaps College in 1985, and her undergraduate degree in English Literature from Wheaton College in 1982. She is licensed to practice in Louisiana and Mississippi.
