Karen Tipton has 30+ years of extensive banking experience, covering all aspects of Private and Commercial Banking. Her specific area of expertise is in commercial and investment real estate lending. She started her career as a National Bank Examiner for the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency in Oklahoma. She relocated to New Orleans in 1992 from Columbus, Ohio after working for Banc One Ohio Corporation as a Loan Review Officer. Her banking career in New Orleans began with Hibernia National Bank (now Capital One Bank), where she worked for 15 years as a Business Banker and Investor Real estate Specialist. She left J.P. Morgan’s Private Wealth Management department in 2011 and joined Resource Bank as a Senior Vice President to assist in opening a Private and Commercial Banking office on the South Shore of New Orleans. The first office was opened in Metairie, LA in 2011 and the second location in December 2014. A native of Tulsa, Oklahoma and a graduate of Oklahoma State University, Karen is a past President of New Orleans CREW (in 2007) as well as a founding board member for the Chapter. In 2015, Karen will rejoin the Board of Directors servicing as the liaison for programs committee. She has served on the Board and as Treasurer of Neighborhood Housing Services, a non-profit housing corporation. Also, Karen has been an active participant of fundraisers benefiting Bridge House/Grace House. She is also a founding member of the Krewe of Muses, a Carnivale organization.
