Her expertise is in title insurance law, secured transactions and title examination. Her professional memberships include Louisiana State Bar Association Committee on Title Standards and Louisiana Land Title Association Legislative Committee since 2002. In the past, she has served on both the State Bar Association Committee on Title Standards and the Louisiana Land Title Association Legislative Committee.

Lillie’s extensive experience in title insurance and her professional commitments to this area of law are only rivaled by her passion for her chosen practice.  As she says, “I enjoy the historical aspects of title work and the puzzles it involves, piecing together the solutions to title issues. I get professional satisfaction knowing that I have helped my clients achieve their objectives in their real estate transactions. As lawyers we do provide a valuable service in the flow of real estate, which is a major component of our economy.”

A New Orleans native and a graduate of Tulane University Law School, Lillie has shown a financial commitment to local organizations such as the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra and Bridge House, as well as national organizations such as Second Harvest, Alzheimer’s Association, American Diabetes Society and the American Cancer Society. “I really believe in those organizations and the work they do,” says Lillie. A former Board member of AIDS Law of Louisiana, her other volunteer work includes Hike for KaTREEna, a non-profit organization dedicated to replanting trees in New Orleans; pro bono legal work for Friends of A Studio In The Woods; and the Louisiana Bar Association's Secret Santa Program.

Rose McCabe LeBreton, New Orleans CREW President, is a partner at The Steeg Law Firm, L.L.C., a full-service, boutique business law firm with decades of experience in commercial and residential real estate transactions, both large and small, and complex business deals throughout Greater New Orleans, Louisiana and Texas.

Rose has been consistently recognized by Best Lawyers in America, Super Lawyers and New Orleans Magazine as one of the top real estate attorneys in New Orleans and Louisiana.  She has extensive expertise in title insurance defense and complex title resolutions for title companies, landowners and the Port of New Orleans. Rose works with developers, large landowners and in site acquisitions through lease or purchase and project development. She has personally handled over 600 title insurance claims.

Among the many major commercial real estate projects in Louisiana that she has been lead attorney on are Tulane University’s RiverSphere Center, overseeing the title curative work for 46,000 acres for the largest landowner in St. Tammany Parish, and the acquisition of Metairie Towers. During her lengthy career, she has handled development and land use issues for Lakeside Shopping Center, the Feil Organization, Lauricella Land and Tulane University.

A graduate from Tulane University Law School in 1976, Rose has had a long-standing and fulfilling relationship with the University. She was Assistant Dean for Admissions and Financial Aid from1977-1979, the first woman to hold that position. In 2002, she began work to revive local alumni chapter after 20 years. Rose helped create a solid series of on-going events to re-acquaint local alumni, including prominent graduates such as U.S. Attorney Jim Letten, Major General William K. Suter who is the Clerk to the U.S. Supreme Court and Louisiana Attorney General Buddy Caldwell, with their school and their peers to strengthen the law school community and support of the University, and to increase hiring of Tulane graduates so talent stays in the City and the State.

Rose was most recently included as one of the fifty nominees for New Orleans CityBusiness 2009 Women of the Year.  She has a long list of professional and charitable involvements.
